Case IH 51411 – Remote AUX Controller: Implement feedback #2 out of range Low

Issue description

This code indicates an electrical fault where the feedback sensor (position transducer) for the #2 implement/remote valve is sending a voltage signal to the controller that is below the acceptable minimum threshold. This means the controller cannot accurately determine the position of the #2 remote valve spool.

Applies to these machines

  • MX Magnum
  • Case IH MX Magnum Series
  • Case IH TG Series
  • Case IH STX Steiger Series

Check the cause

  1. Ensure the valve spools are moving freely and are not mechanically binding inside the remote valve stack

  2. Disconnect any implements from the remote hydraulic valves before performing any tests or calibrations

  3. Inspect the wiring harness leading to the #2 remote valve feedback sensor for an open circuit or a short to ground

  4. Verify that the sensor is receiving proper supply voltage (related codes like 51261 or 51262 indicate the main sensor supply voltage itself is out of range)

  5. Attempt to run the AUX CAL (Auxiliary Calibration) procedure to see if the controller can relearn the sensor's range

Repair steps

  1. Relieve Pressure

Turn off the engine and relieve all hydraulic pressure from the remote valves.

  2. Locate the Sensor

Locate the #2 remote valve section on the rear remote valve stack. The implement feedback sensor (transducer) is located in the remote valve stack end cap.

  3. Inspect/Clean

Disconnect the electrical connector to the #2 feedback sensor. Clean the contacts and check for pushed-back pins or corrosion.

  4. Replace Sensor

If the wiring is intact and the spool moves freely but the code persists (or calibration fails), remove the faulty feedback sensor from the valve end cap and install a replacement sensor.

  5. Perform AUX CAL (Calibration)

After replacing the sensor, you must perform the Auxiliary Valve Calibration (AUX CAL) procedure using the tractor's display or an electronic service tool. Note: During calibration, move the 3rd remote lever out of neutral once the 1st section is in progress; the calibration will pause after the 2nd remote section is calibrated to allow the technician to calibrate both remote systems.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • Implement Feedback Sensor / Remote Valve Position Transducer

Specific OEM part number varies heavily by exact tractor serial number and valve stack configuration. Do not buy D51411 (or WIX 51411) as it is an unrelated hydraulic/oil filter.
