Case IH 517673-02 - ACM – ACM: PTO aggressiveness switch circuit fault

Issue description

The system has detected an erratic, intermittent, or incorrect signal (FMI -02) on the circuit for the PTO aggressiveness switch.

Visual Inspection: Locate the PTO aggressiveness switch on the armrest (typically grouped with the PTO engage, HVAC, and radio switches). Check for physical damage, sticking, or liquid spills that may have shorted the contacts.
Harness & Connector Check: Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the switch and the Armrest Control Module (ACM). Look for loose connections, backed-out pins, or corrosion.
Circuit Testing: Using a multimeter, test the switch for proper continuity when toggled. Verify that the circuit is not open or shorted to ground/power.
Monitor Diagnostics: Use the AFS Pro 1200 / IntelliView 12 display diagnostic screens to see if the ACM registers any state change when the PTO aggressiveness switch is pressed.

Power Down
Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts during disassembly.
Access the Armrest
Carefully pry or unscrew the armrest control panel cover to access the internal switch modules and the ACM.
Locate the Switch
Find the PTO aggressiveness switch assembly.
Disconnect
Unplug the electrical connector from the back of the switch.
Remove and Replace
Unclip or unscrew the faulty switch from the armrest bezel. Install the replacement switch into the bezel and ensure it seats firmly.
Reconnect
Plug the electrical harness back into the new switch.
Reassemble
Reinstall the armrest control panel cover and secure all fasteners.
Test
Reconnect the battery, power on the tractor, and clear the inactive fault codes. Navigate to the PTO settings screen and toggle the aggressiveness switch to verify the engagement rate changes successfully without throwing a code.
