Case IH 517698-02 - ACM – ACM: Automatic productivity management field switch circuit fault

The control module is receiving an erratic, open, or shorted electrical signal from the APM field switch, which is used by the operator to toggle the tractor's APM system into "Field" mode.

   Check the wiring circuit between the APM field switch and the ACM for continuity to identify any shorts or open circuits

   If a short or error is found, isolate the fault by opening the circuit at intermediate connectors and repeating multimeter measurements

   Check the physical connections to the Armrest Control Module (ACM) for loss of communication or voltage irregularities

   For vehicles with active terminators, remove the terminators from the CAN system and bench test them for proper operation

   Replace the faulty wiring harness section

   Replace the faulty wiring harness section if a short or open circuit is found.

   Replace the APM Field Switch

   Replace the APM Field Switch on the armrest if the switch itself has failed internally.

   Replace the Armrest Control Module (ACM)

   Replace the Armrest Control Module (ACM) if it is failing to process the switch inputs and all wiring tests pass.
