Case IH 517960-01 - DEC – DEC: Transmission A1 clutch solenoid electrical circuit fault - voltage low

The transmission controller is detecting a lower-than-expected voltage on the circuit responsible for operating the A1 clutch solenoid. This condition is typically caused by a short to ground in the wiring harness, an open circuit, a failing solenoid coil, or a general low battery voltage condition affecting the transmission controller.

   Test overall battery voltage (should be 12-14 volts; below 11.5V can cause false voltage low codes)

   Trace the wiring harness from the DEC to the transmission control valve block, looking for chafed wires, pinched lines, or shorts to ground

   Disconnect the A1 clutch solenoid and inspect the connector pins for corrosion, moisture ingress, or damage

   Measure the resistance (Ohms) across the A1 clutch solenoid pins with a multimeter and compare to OEM specs to check for an internally shorted or open coil

   This prevents electrical shorts and relieves any residual hydraulic pressure in the transmission circuit.
