Case IH 518049-14 - ACM – ACM: Incorrect differential lock keypad configuration

The control module is detecting an invalid configuration, communication mismatch, or unrecognized state from the differential lock switch/keypad located on the armrest.

   Verify Display Configuration: Access the Pro 1200 / AFS display monitor and navigate to the armrest configuration settings to ensure the differential lock button/keypad is properly assigned and recognized by the system.

   Inspect Connections: Check the physical connection between the differential lock keypad and the Armrest Control Module (ACM). Look for loose connectors, backed-out pins, or corrosion.

   Check for Related Codes: Look for accompanying codes such as 518049-19 (Differential lock keypad disconnected) or 518049-09 (Differential lock keypad disconnected while on), which would point to a hard wiring failure.

   Software Verification: Check if the ACM requires a software re-flash or update, as configuration errors can sometimes be triggered by software glitches.

   Reconfigure the Keypad

   Use the tractor's display to reassign or recalibrate the configurable buttons on the armrest control panel. Save the configuration and cycle the key power.

   Harness Repair

   If diagnostic checks reveal a wiring issue between the keypad and the ACM, repair or replace the affected section of the armrest harness.

   Replace the Keypad/ICP

   If the configuration cannot be saved or the switch has failed internally, the ICP (Armrest Mounted Control Panel) or the specific differential lock keypad module must be replaced.

   Clear the fault code via the diagnostic menu. Start the tractor and test the automatic and manual differential lock engagement to ensure the code does not return.
