Case IH 518347-02 - ACM – ACM (Armrest Control Module): Automatic productivity management road switch circuit fault

The controller is detecting an electrical irregularity (such as a short, open circuit, or out-of-range voltage) in the wiring or the switch itself for the Automatic Productivity Management (APM) road switch.

   Verify the Symptom: Check if the APM road mode icon appears or flashes on the AFS Pro display when the switch is toggled.

   Inspect the Switch: Test the physical APM road switch on the Multicontroller armrest for sticking or mechanical damage.

   Check Wiring and Connections: Inspect the wiring harness connecting the road switch to the Armrest Control Module (ACM) for chafing, pinched wires, or loose connector pins.

   Voltage/Continuity Test: Use a multimeter to verify the 5-volt reference and ground circuits at the switch to determine if the circuit is open or shorted.

   Disconnect battery

   Disconnect battery power before servicing the armrest electronics.

   Disassemble armrest

   Disassemble the Multicontroller armrest housing to access the switch panel and ACM connections.

   Repair wiring harness

   If the wiring harness is damaged, repair the broken/shorted wire or replace the affected harness section.

   Replace APM road switch

   If the circuit tests good but the switch fails continuity tests when toggled, replace the APM road switch (or the integrated switch module, depending on the tractor model's armrest design).

   Reassemble and clear codes

   Reassemble the armrest, reconnect the battery, and use the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) or AFS display to clear the fault code and verify APM road mode engagement.
