518418.13 - ACML

Case IH 518418.13 - ACML – ACML: ACML type wrong configuration

Issue description

The control module has either lost its programmed configuration parameters, has been loaded with software/settings that do not match the tractor's physical build, or requires a baseline calibration to function properly.

Applies to these machines

  • MAXXUM T4E
  • VESTRUM CVX
  • Maxxum 115
  • Maxxum 135 Multicontroller Activedrive 8
  • Magnum 235–340
  • AFS Connect Magnum 250
  • AFS Connect Magnum 280
  • AFS Connect Magnum 310
  • AFS Connect Magnum 340
  • AFS Connect Magnum 380
  • Steiger 500

Check the cause

  1. Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to the tractor's diagnostic port to communicate with the Data Bus.

  2. Check for related secondary armrest codes (such as 18254, 18255, 18256, or 18257) which indicate issues with the armrest dispenser controls or Electro-Hydraulic Remote (EHR) lever positions.

  3. Verify current configuration by navigating to the Configuration Icon in the EST and selecting 'ACM Configuration – Full Garu'.

  4. Retrieve and save the controller values for both the Basic Configuration and the Advanced Configuration to document original settings.

  5. Save the previous calibration values from the EHR levers.

Repair steps

  1. Reconfigure the Module

Using the EST, reload the correct configuration file that matches the tractor's specific build and options.

  2. Software Update

If a software update is required (e.g., updating to ACM software version 1.2.0.0), unzip the provided .zip file from the OEM and flash the module.

  3. Perform Calibrations

Once the configuration is corrected, you must perform the calibration procedures. Note that to carry out the Spool calibration, it is often necessary to carry out the WAS (Wheel Angle Sensor) calibration first.

  4. Verify Operation

Check the status display in the EST to ensure the physical potentiometer changes (like moving the EHR levers or flow control dials) match the digital readouts.

  5. Module Replacement

If the ACML will not accept the configuration, fails to hold its calibration memory, or has an internal hardware failure, the module itself must be replaced.
