Case IH 518422-14 - ACM – ACM: Incorrect hand throttle 1 configuration

The control module is detecting an invalid setup, a loss of calibration, or a signal mismatch regarding the primary hand throttle's position sensor.

   Check for accompanying ACM sub-codes (518422-13, 518422-06, 518422-03, 518422-00, 518422-01) that pinpoint specific electrical failures.

   Inspect the wiring harness between the throttle panel and the ACM. Specifically check the 34-cavity female electrical connector at the ACM for loose pins or corrosion.

   Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to check if an ACM software update is available or if the module has simply lost its calibration.

   Prepare the Machine

   Ensure the tractor is not moving, the park brake is applied (both electronic and mechanical, if equipped), and the engine is off with the ignition turned ON.

   Attempt Recalibration

   Using the Case IH EST, navigate to the ACM controller and run the calibration procedure for the hand throttle. If the calibration fails or the configuration code returns, the physical throttle sensor/lever must be replaced.

   Disassemble the Armrest

   Turn off the ignition and disconnect battery power. Remove the armrest covers to access the internal throttle panel and multi-function handle assembly.

   Replace the Component

   Disconnect the electrical harness from the hand throttle potentiometer/sensor. Unbolt the hand throttle lever assembly and install the replacement unit.

   Reassemble and Calibrate

   Reconnect the wiring and reassemble the armrest plastics. Reconnect the battery, turn the ignition ON, and use the EST to perform the mandatory ACM calibration so the module learns the new hand throttle configuration limits.
