Case IH 518556-02 - ACM – ACM: EHR display shortcut switch circuit fault

Electrical circuit malfunction (such as an open circuit, short to ground, or short to power) specifically affecting the shortcut switch used to access the Electro-Hydraulic Remote (EHR) settings on the display.

   Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to diagnostic connector 1 (CAN1/ISOBUS)

   Verify ACM configuration in the EST menu to ensure it matches the tractor's specific EHR setup (e.g., 4, 5, or 6 EHR levers) to rule out false circuit faults

   Check the main power and ground feeds to the ACM: unswitched power (Pin 1 - UNSW B+), switched power (Pin 2 - SWB+), and solid ground (Pin 7 - GND)

   Inspect the wiring harness connecting the EHR shortcut switch to the ACM for damaged pins, pushed-back terminals, or wire chafing inside the armrest console

   Clear and Retest

   Use the EST to note the error code, clear it, and test the EHR shortcut switch for normal operation to see if the fault is active or stored.

   Inspect Connections

   If the fault is active, power down the machine and open the Multicontroller armrest console. Disconnect the harness at the EHR shortcut switch and the ACM.

   Continuity Test

   Test the circuit between the switch and the ACM for continuity, short-to-ground, and short-to-power.

   Component Testing

   If the wiring is intact, the fault lies within either the EHR shortcut switch itself or the ACM failing to read the input.

   Replacement

   Replace the faulty switch or the ACM. If the ACM is replaced, it must be reconfigured using the EST to match the tractor's specific EHR and joystick options.
