Case IH 518560-03 - ACM – ACM: EHR lever 2 voltage high

The voltage signal returning from the EHR lever's internal potentiometer/encoder to the controller is higher than the permissible range. This typically indicates a short circuit to a power source, a broken ground wire, or an internal failure of the lever's electronic sensor.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between EHR Lever 2 and the Armrest Control Module (ACM) for pinched wires, corrosion, or a short circuit to a higher voltage source.

   Use the tractor's diagnostic display (AFS Pro monitor or EIC) to observe the live voltage readings of EHR Lever 2. Check if the voltage is stuck at a high value regardless of the lever's physical position.

   Swap the electrical connector of EHR Lever 2 (Lever B) with an adjacent, functioning lever (such as Lever 1 or 3). If the high voltage fault code follows the lever, the EHR lever itself has failed internally. If the fault code remains on Lever 2, the issue is in the wiring harness or the ACM.

   Verify the ACM configuration. Attempt to recalibrate the levers via the display, as a loss of calibration can sometimes cause out-of-range errors.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts during repair.

   Access the Console

   Remove the upper cover assembly/housing of the right-hand armrest console to expose the electronic controls and EHR lever block.

   Disconnect

   Locate EHR Lever 2 (Lever B) and carefully unplug its electrical harness connector.

   Remove the Lever

   Remove the mounting screws (typically #8-32 x 3/8" slotted pan head or M4 x 20 hex socket head screws) that secure the EHR lever assembly to the mounting plate.

   Install the New Part

   Seat the new EHR lever assembly into the mounting plate and secure it with the screws.

   Reassemble

   Reconnect the electrical harness to the new lever and reinstall the armrest console cover.

   Calibrate

   Reconnect the battery, power on the tractor, and navigate to the configuration screen for the EHR levers on the display. Follow the on-screen prompts to calibrate the new lever's detent and center positions.
