Case IH 518561-06 - ACM – ACM: EHR lever C (or EHR 3) voltage low

The Armrest Control Module (ACM) is detecting an abnormally low voltage signal from the Electro-Hydraulic Remote (EHR) lever C (also designated as EHR lever 3). This is typically caused by a short to ground in the wiring harness, a disconnected plug, or a total internal failure of the lever's sensor.

   Perform a lever swap test: Swap the electrical connector of EHR lever C with an adjacent lever. If the fault code changes to the new lever's position, the lever has failed internally. If the code remains, the issue is in the wiring harness or ACM.

   Inspect the wiring harness between the EHR lever block and the ACM for pinched wires under the armrest plastics, chafing, or backed-out pins in the connectors.

   Attempt to recalibrate the EHR levers via the tractor's display. If the lever fails calibration immediately due to no signal, the sensor is dead.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and turn off the battery disconnect switch to prevent electrical spikes to the ACM.

   Access the Armrest

   Remove the retaining screws on the underside or side profile of the right-hand armrest console to lift off the top plastic cover.

   Remove the Lever Block

   Disconnect the wiring harness pigtail from the bottom of EHR lever C (Lever 3).

   Extract the Lever

   Remove the mounting screws securing the specific EHR lever to the armrest chassis and pull the lever assembly out.

   Install the New Part

   Seat the new EHR lever into the console, secure the mounting screws, and plug in the electrical connector.

   Reassemble

   Reinstall the armrest covers and turn the battery disconnect back on.

   Calibrate

   You must perform the EHR lever calibration procedure using the tractor's display monitor so the ACM can learn the minimum, maximum, and neutral voltage values of the new lever's potentiometer. Failure to calibrate will result in the lever not functioning or throwing immediate out-of-range codes.
