518562-03 - ACM

Case IH 518562-03 - ACM – ACM: EHR lever 4 (Lever D) voltage high.

Issue description

The system is detecting that the voltage signal from the potentiometer inside the 4th Electro-Hydraulic Remote (EHR) lever is exceeding the maximum allowable threshold. This typically indicates a short to a high voltage source, an open ground circuit in the lever's wiring, or an internal failure of the lever's potentiometer.

Applies to these machines

  • MAGNUM AFS Connect
  • Steiger AFS Connect

Check the cause

  1. Inspect EHR lever D (the 4th remote lever on the armrest) for physical damage, sticking, or binding.

  2. Access the underside of the armrest and inspect the electrical connector at the EHR lever and the ACM for backed-out pins, corrosion, or wire chafing.

  3. Perform a component isolation swap test by exchanging the electrical connection of Lever 4 (D) with Lever 3 (C). If the fault code changes to the corresponding code for Lever 3 (e.g., 518561-03), the lever itself has failed internally. If the 518562-03 code remains, the issue is in the wiring harness or the ACM.

  4. Attempt to recalibrate the EHR levers via the tractor's display monitor to rule out a loss of calibration before replacing parts.

Repair steps

  1. Power Down

Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and turn off the battery disconnect switch to prevent electrical spikes.

  2. Access the Armrest

Remove the retaining screws on the armrest console cover to expose the EHR lever modules.

  3. Remove the Faulty Lever

Disconnect the wiring harness connector from EHR lever 4. Remove the mounting screws securing the lever block to the armrest assembly.

  4. Install the New Lever

Seat the new EHR lever into the armrest slot and secure it with the mounting screws. Reconnect the electrical connector.

  5. Reassemble

Reinstall the armrest console cover and restore battery power.

  6. Calibrate the New Lever

CRITICAL STEP. Navigate to the EHR calibration menu in the Pro 1200 display and perform the lever calibration procedure so the ACM learns the new potentiometer's minimum and maximum voltage values.

  7. Clear Codes

Clear the inactive 518562-03 fault code and test the remote valve for proper raise/lower/float operation.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • EHR Lever Assembly (Electro-Hydraulic Remote Lever)

    90493683

This is the complete lever block used to raise, lower, extend, or retract hydraulic cylinders. It is a modular unit; the same part number is generally used across all lever positions (1 through 6), but it must be assigned and calibrated to position 4 (Lever D) in the software upon installation. (Note: If only the physical plastic knob is broken, older Magnum generations used part # 406962A1, but a voltage high code requires the replacement of the electronic lever base # 90493683).
