Case IH 518562-06 - ACM – ACM: EHR Lever 4 Out-of-Range Voltage Signal
Issue description
Indicates an out-of-range voltage signal from EHR (Electro-Hydraulic Remote) Lever 4 (Lever D). The potentiometer inside the EHR lever is sending an implausible voltage signal to the controller, meaning the system cannot accurately determine the physical position of the remote lever.
Applies to these machines
6 machines- MAGNUM AFS Connect
- Magnum
- Steiger
- Puma
- Maxxum
- Optum
Check the cause
Check EHR lever calibration values using the Electronic Service Tool (EST) or the tractor's display (Float: ~0 mV, Lower: ~180 mV, Neutral: ~550 mV, Raised: ~910 mV)
Attempt an EHR lever recalibration. If the values deviate by more than 30mV after multiple calibration attempts, the lever's internal potentiometer has failed
Inspect the wiring harness and connections between EHR lever D and the ACM for pinched wires, corrosion, or loose pins
Verify that the lever is receiving its 5V reference and has a solid ground
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the battery (or pull the ACM fuse) to prevent electrical shorts during disassembly.
Access the Levers
Remove the retaining screws and lift the top cover of the armrest console to expose the EHR lever assemblies.
Disconnect the Faulty Lever
Locate Lever D (the 4th lever). Disconnect its electrical connector, noting the wire colors (typically involving a 5V reference, signal, and ground).
Replace the Lever
Remove the mounting hardware securing the faulty EHR lever and install the new replacement lever.
Reassemble
Reconnect the electrical connector and reinstall the armrest cover.
Calibrate the New Lever
Reconnect the battery and turn the ignition on. You must perform the EHR lever calibration procedure using the EST or the tractor's display (navigating to the EHR calibration menu and moving the lever through its detents as prompted).
Clear Codes
Clear the 518562-06 fault code from the ACM and test the remote valve for proper operation.
