Case IH 518562-13 - ACM – ACM: EHR lever D sensor disagreement / EHR lever 4 low voltage
Issue description
The fault indicates a sensor disagreement or a low voltage condition on Electro-Hydraulic Remote (EHR) Lever 4 (often designated as Lever D). The system detects that the electrical signal from the lever's position sensor is lower than the expected threshold or out of range, meaning the module cannot accurately determine the physical position of the lever.

Check the cause
Check if the EHR lever has lost its calibration via the tractor's display (e.g., AFS Pro 1200 or EIC)
Inspect EHR Lever 4 (D) on the armrest for physical damage, sticking, or debris preventing full travel
Check the voltage supply and signal return for Lever 4 using a multimeter. Look for an open circuit in the 5V reference supply wire, a short to ground in the signal wire, or backed-out pins at the ACM connector
Perform a swap test by exchanging the electrical connection of Lever 4 with an adjacent lever (e.g., Lever 3/C) to determine if the fault follows the lever or stays with the wiring/ACM
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor, apply the parking brake, and disconnect the battery ground to prevent electrical spikes.
Access the Armrest Internals
Remove the protective covers/screws on the armrest console to expose the EHR lever block and the Armrest Control Module (ACM).
Repair Wiring (If Applicable)
If your diagnostic checks revealed a broken wire or short to ground, repair the wiring harness and replace any damaged connector pins.
Replace the EHR Lever (If Faulty)
Disconnect the electrical connector from the bottom of EHR Lever 4. Remove the retaining screws holding the lever assembly in the armrest block. Install the new EHR lever and secure the hardware. Reconnect the electrical harness.
Reassemble and Power Up
Reinstall the armrest covers and reconnect the battery.
Recalibrate
You must perform the EHR lever calibration procedure after replacing a lever or the ACM. Navigate to the calibration menu on the display and follow the on-screen prompts to set the neutral, maximum extend, and maximum retract positions.
Clear Codes
Clear the inactive 518562-13 code from the ACM memory and test the remote valve operation.
