Case IH 518563-01 - ACM – ACM: EHR lever E internal failure

The system's controller has detected that the electrical signal (voltage) from the lever's internal potentiometer is out of the expected range, implausible, or failing to register the correct detent positions (such as neutral, float, raise, or lower).

   Check Calibration Values: Connect the Electronic Service Tool (EST) or use the tractor's in-cab instrumentation (EHR CAL screen) to view the lever's voltage values. Expected values: Neutral = 550 mV, Float = 0 mV, Lower = 180 mV, Raised = 910 mV. Deviations of 30 mV or higher indicate internal failure.

   Clear Debris / Spool Check: Stroke the valve back and forth manually or via the lever to clear any potential debris, then attempt to recalibrate.

   Harness Testing: Test the wiring harness from the armrest controls to the ACM to rule out a short or open circuit before condemning the lever itself.

   Temporary Workaround: Switch your implement hoses to a different remote valve (e.g., SCV 1 instead of the failed SCV) to confirm the issue is isolated strictly to that specific lever/circuit.

   Save Existing Data

   Before replacing the lever or updating the ACM, open EST, select "ACM Configuration," and save the previous calibration values from the EHR levers to a file.

   Prepare the Tractor

   Ensure the tractor is not moving, the parking brake is applied, and the engine is off with the ignition on.

   Access the Lever

   Remove the armrest console cover to access the EHR lever assembly (often referred to as the pilot head or electric module).

   Remove the Faulty Component

   Disconnect the wiring harness from the faulty EHR lever E and unbolt it from the armrest bank.

   Install the New Lever

   Mount the replacement EHR lever and reconnect the wiring harness.

   Calibrate the New Lever

   The CAN-based EHR valves must be calibrated prior to use. Navigate to the EHR CAL screen on the display (or use EST) and follow the prompts to calibrate the new lever's detent positions.

   Clear Codes

   Clear the stored fault codes from the ACM and test the remote valve for proper operation.
