Case IH 518564-09 - ACM – ACM: EHR Lever 6 Disconnected While Powered On
Issue description
This fault code indicates that the Armrest Control Module (ACM) has lost electrical communication or detected an open circuit with the Electro-Hydraulic Remote (EHR) lever 6 (F) while the tractor's system was actively powered on.
Applies to these machines
5 machines- MAGNUM AFS Connect
- Case IH Magnum AFS Connect
- Magnum 380
- Magnum 400 AFS Connect
- Case IH Steiger AFS Connect
Check the cause
Inspect Connectors: Access the EHR lever wiring under the armrest panel. Ensure the connectors between the EHR lever and the ACM are fully connected, not damaged, and that the pins are in the correct position with a tight fit.
Check Wiring Continuity: Test the wiring harness for continuity between the EHR lever 6 (F) and the Armrest Control Module to rule out a broken wire or open circuit.
Verify Calibration: Attempt to recalibrate the EHR lever using the Vision Pro display (Vehicle Settings > Menu Diagnostics > Vehicle Diagnostics > Calibration Wizard).
If the wiring is intact and the calibration procedure fails or the fault code immediately returns, the EHR lever itself has likely suffered an internal failure and must be replaced.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor and disconnect battery power to prevent electrical shorts while working on the armrest.
Access the Levers
Remove the retaining screws and carefully lift the top cover of the MultiControl Armrest to expose the EHR lever modules.
Disconnect the Faulty Lever
Locate EHR lever 6 (the 6th lever from the left). Unplug its specific wiring harness connector.
Remove the Lever
Remove the mounting screws (typically M4 x 12 self-tapping screws) securing the faulty EHR lever to the armrest bracket and pull the lever assembly out.
Install the New Part
Seat the new EHR lever into position and secure it with the mounting screws.
Reconnect
Plug the wiring harness back into the new lever, ensuring the connector clicks securely into place.
Reassemble
Reinstall the armrest cover and restore battery power.
Calibrate
Power on the tractor. You must perform the EHR lever calibration procedure via the Vision Pro display for the ACM to recognize the new lever's potentiometer sweep.
