Case IH 518564-19 - ACM – ACM: EHR lever 6 disconnected
Issue description
The system has detected an open circuit, loss of communication, or a complete disconnection of the Electro-Hydraulic Remote (EHR) lever #6.
Applies to these machines
3 machines- MAGNUM AFS Connect
- Case IH Magnum AFS Connect series
- Case IH Steiger AFS Connect series
Check the cause
Remove the armrest trim panel and inspect the wiring harness leading to EHR lever 6. Look for pinched wires, loose connector pins, or disconnected plugs.
Navigate to the Vehicle and Implement Settings -> Diagnostics screen on the AFS Pro 1200 display. Check the live status/voltage of EHR lever 6 to see if it registers any input when moved.
Perform a swap test by swapping the electrical connector of EHR lever 6 with an adjacent, known-good lever (such as EHR lever 5). If the fault code changes to the corresponding lever (e.g., 518563-19 for lever 5), the lever itself has failed internally. If the fault code remains 518564-19, the issue lies within the armrest wiring harness or the Armrest Control Module (ACM).
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts or accidental hydraulic actuation.
Access the Levers
Remove the retaining screws on the right-hand armrest console to lift the upper trim/cover plate, exposing the EHR lever block.
Remove the Faulty Lever
Disconnect the electrical pigtail from EHR lever 6. Unclip or unscrew the lever assembly from the armrest mounting bracket.
Install the New Part
Seat the new EHR lever into the bracket, secure it, and plug in the electrical connector.
Reassembly
Reinstall the armrest cover plate and reconnect the battery.
Calibration
Power on the tractor. You must perform an EHR lever calibration procedure so the ACM can learn the new lever's neutral, maximum extend, and maximum retract voltage parameters. This can be done via the display's EHR settings screen or using the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST).
Clear Codes
Clear the inactive 518564-19 fault code from the ACM memory and test the remote valve for proper operation.
