Case IH 518566-13 - ACM – ACM: EHR lever 8 (or H) sensor disagreement

Issue description

The system is detecting an implausible, conflicting, or out-of-range signal from the internal position sensor of the Electro-Hydraulic Remote (EHR) lever #8 (Lever H). This typically indicates that the lever's physical position does not match the electrical voltage value expected by the controller, which can be caused by a loss of calibration, outdated software, or a physical failure of the lever's internal sensor.

Applies to these machines

  • MAGNUM AFS Connect
  • Case IH Magnum AFS Connect series
  • Case IH Steiger AFS Connect series
  • Other Case IH models utilizing the Vision Pro operating system and ACM architecture with up to 8 remote valves

Check the cause

  1. Check if the EHR lever was recently calibrated, as loss of calibration is the most common cause of sensor disagreement codes.

  2. Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the EHR lever H and the Armrest Control Module (ACM) for loose pins, corrosion, or damaged wires.

  3. Verify the current software version of the ACM, as CNH has issued service bulletins regarding ACM software updates to address EHR lever calibration and sensor error codes.

Repair steps

  1. Recalibrate the EHR Lever

Enter the tractor's diagnostic/calibration menu (via the Vision Pro display or EIC). Select the EHR lever calibration procedure. Follow the on-screen prompts to move the lever through its full range of motion (Neutral, Float, Lower, Raise) to relearn the sensor voltage values.

  2. Update ACM Software

If the lever fails to calibrate or the code returns immediately, download and install the latest ACM software package using the Electronic Service Tool (EST).

  3. Repeat Calibration

After any software update, you must repeat the EHR lever calibration procedure for all levers.

  4. Replace the Component

If the fault code persists after a software update and a successful calibration attempt, the internal sensor has failed. The EHR lever control unit must be removed from the armrest and replaced.

  5. Final Calibration

Once the new lever is installed, perform a final EHR lever calibration to marry the new sensor to the ACM.

Parts you might need

(2)
  • EHR Lever Assembly (Electro-Hydraulic Remote Lever)

    90493683

Standard CNH EHR Lever assembly used for raise/lower/extend/retract functions. When replacing the lever, ensure you are using the correct Service Kit. The replacement lever will require immediate calibration upon installation before it will function.

  • EHR Lever Knob
