Case IH 518583-07 - UCM – UCM: Brake assisted steering pressure disagreement

The control module is detecting that the actual hydraulic pressure reading from the brake-assisted steering system does not match the expected or commanded pressure value, indicating a mechanical system not responding or an out-of-adjustment condition.

   Inspect the dedicated brake-assisted steering wire harness for chafing, shorts, or disconnected plugs.

   Locate the Brake Assisted Steering Valve pressure sensor (near the rear axle diff lock) and check its electrical connector for corrosion or damage.

   Use the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to verify that the UCM is properly communicating with the VCM and receiving a signal from the pressure sensor.

   Relieve hydraulic pressure

   Relieve hydraulic pressure from the tractor's steering and braking circuits.

   Disconnect sensor

   Disconnect the electrical connector from the Brake Assisted Steering Pressure Sensor.

   Remove faulty sensor

   Unthread the faulty pressure sensor from the Brake Assisted Steering Valve block (rear axle diff lock area).

   Discard old O-ring

   Discard the old O-ring.

   Prepare new sensor

   Lubricate the new O-ring (Part # 86639042) and install it on the new Danfoss pressure sensor (Part # 91739539).

   Install new sensor

   Thread the new sensor into the valve block and tighten to OEM specifications.

   Reconnect harness

   Reconnect the wiring harness.

   Clear codes and test

   Clear the 518583-07 fault code from the UCM using the EST and test the brake-assisted steering function in the field to ensure the pressure disagreement does not return.
