Case IH 518660-02 - ACM – ACM: Mouse hitch fast raise switch circuit fault

The system has detected an electrical circuit fault (such as an open circuit, short to ground, or out-of-range voltage) in the "Fast Raise" switch for the rear hitch. This switch is located on the Multi-Function Handle (MFH).

   Inspect the fast raise switch on the Multi-Function Handle for physical damage, sticking, or debris lodged around the button.

   Inspect the wiring harness connecting the Multi-Function Handle to the Armrest Control Module (ACM) for pinched wires, chafing, or loose connector pins inside the armrest console.

   Connect the Case IH EST diagnostic tool and monitor the live data for the ACM to observe if the fast raise switch is stuck 'Active' (shorted) or fails to change state when pressed (open circuit).

   Disconnect the MFH harness and use a multimeter to test the switch's continuity (it should show continuity only when the fast raise button is actively pressed).

   Power Down

   Turn off the ignition and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical spikes during repair.

   Access the Armrest Internals

   Carefully remove the plastic trim and cover panels on the armrest console to expose the Multi-Function Handle mounting and wiring harness.

   Disconnect the MFH

   Unplug the main connector linking the Multi-Function Handle to the ACM harness.

   Isolate the Fault

   If the switch failed the continuity test in the diagnostic phase, the fault is internal to the handle. Proceed to replace the Multi-Function Handle assembly. If the switch tested good, the fault lies in the armrest wiring harness. Trace the wires from the MFH connector back to the ACM, locate the break or short, and repair the wiring.

   Reassembly

   Install the new Multi-Function Handle (or repaired harness) and reconnect all plugs. Reinstall the armrest trim panels.

   Calibration & Clearing

   Reconnect the battery. Turn the key on, connect the EST, and clear the 518660-02 fault code.

7. 7

   Functional Test

   Start the tractor and perform a functional test of the rear hitch using the fast raise switch to ensure the hitch responds correctly and the code does not return.
