Case IH 518663-02 - ACM – Armrest Control Unit (ACM / GARU): Multi function handle hitch fast lower switch circuit fault

The control module is detecting an open, short, or out-of-range signal on the circuit connecting the Rear Hitch Fast Lower Switch (S117) to the armrest module.

   Inspect the S117 Rear Hitch Fast Lower Switch located on the Multi Function Handle for physical damage or sticking.

   Inspect the wiring harness between the Multi Function Handle and the Armrest Control Unit, specifically checking connector X846 for loose, corroded, or backed-out pins.

   Verify continuity on the circuit between the S117 switch and the ACM, looking for shorts to ground or open circuits in the armrest wiring harness.

   Park and prepare machine

   Park the tractor on a level surface, lower all equipment, and relieve all hydraulic pressure.

   Disconnect battery

   Disconnect the negative battery cable before beginning electrical repairs.

   Disassemble console

   Disassemble the armrest console to access the Multi Function Handle wiring and connector X846.

   Replace handle assembly

   If the wiring harness is intact but the switch has failed, the Multi Function Handle may need to be replaced as an assembly, as individual internal switches are often not serviced separately.

   Install new handle

   Install the new handle/switch, route the wiring harness carefully to prevent pinching, and reconnect X846.

   Test and verify

   Reconnect the battery, power on the tractor, and clear the fault codes. Test the rear hitch fast lower function to verify the repair.
