Check the cause
Verify the physical wiring harness connection to the encoder dial inside the armrest.
Inspect the internal armrest wiring for pinched, broken, or shorted wires that could cause a loss of communication or voltage irregularities.
Attempt to navigate the AFS Pro 1200 display using the encoder dial to see if the input is completely dead or intermittent.
Repair steps
Disconnect battery
Disconnect the tractor's battery power before servicing the armrest electronic controls to prevent short circuits.
Remove covers
Remove the armrest tray and instrument control panel covers to access the internal Electronic Controls (EDC).
Locate assembly
Locate the EDC Mouse (encoder dial) assembly inside the armrest housing.
Disconnect harness
Disconnect the wiring harness connected to the encoder wheel.
Remove screws
Remove the retaining screws holding the encoder assembly in place (OEM diagrams note these are typically M3.5 x 12mm screws).
Install new dial
Install the new encoder dial (EDC Mouse) and secure it with the retaining screws.
Reassemble
Reconnect the wiring harness and reassemble the armrest panels and tray.
Test functionality
Power on the tractor and test the encoder dial's functionality on the AFS Pro 1200 display.
