Case IH 518666-09 - ACM – ACM: Mouse disconnected while powered on

The control module loses electrical connection or CAN communication with the encoder dial/handle (mouse) while the tractor's electrical system is actively powered on.

   Perform a power cycle by turning the key OFF, waiting at least 8 minutes for the system to fully power down and save data before disconnecting any batteries or modules, and turning it back ON to see if the communication fault clears.

   Verify that the Armrest Control Module is receiving proper voltage by checking the unswitched power (Pin 1 - UNSW B+), switched power (Pin 2 - SWB+), and ground (Pin 7 - GND).

   Inspect the wiring harness inside the armrest that connects the encoder dial/multi-function handle to the ACM for pinched wires, chafing, or loose connector pins.

   Check the physical connection at the base of the multi-function handle/mouse for a loose connector.

   Park the machine on a level surface, turn the key OFF, and wait 8 minutes for the CAN bus and ACM to power down completely.

   Remove the retaining screws on the top cover of the Multicontroller armrest to access the internal wiring and the base of the multi-function handle.

   Power on the tractor and use the AFS Pro 1200 display or the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) plugged into the CAN1/ISOBUS diagnostic port to clear the fault code and verify the encoder dial is functioning.
