Case IH 518714-02 - ACM – ACM: Headland management system record switch circuit fault

The control system has detected an electrical circuit malfunction (such as an open circuit, short to ground, or short to power) specifically tied to the switch used by the operator to record automated headland turning sequences (HMC II / End of Row System).

   Inspect the Headland Management System record switch located on the tractor's armrest/multicontroller for physical damage, sticking, or debris.

   Check the wiring harness and connectors running between the record switch and the Armrest Control Module (ACM) for continuity, high resistance, or shorts to ground/power.

   Use the AFS Pro 1200 display diagnostics screen or an electronic service tool to monitor the switch state. Toggle the record switch to see if the ACM registers the input change.

   Power down and disconnect battery

   Power down the tractor and disconnect battery power before servicing the armrest electronics to prevent shorting the ACM.

   Disassemble armrest control panel

   Disassemble the armrest control panel to access the internal switch assembly and wiring harness.

   Repair or replace wiring harness

   If the wiring harness is pinched or damaged, repair or replace the affected section of the armrest harness.

   Replace switch or MFH assembly

   If the switch itself has failed internally, replace the individual record switch or the multi-function handle (MFH) assembly, depending on how the switch is serviced for your specific model.

   Reassemble and test

   Reassemble the armrest, restore power, and test the Headland Management System record function to ensure the fault code is cleared and the system can successfully record a sequence.
