519043-05 - DEC

Case IH 519043-05 - DEC – DEC: DEC reverse battery relay electrical circuit fault current below normal

Issue description

The control module has detected that the electrical current in the monitored circuit is less than expected, indicating an open circuit. This is typically caused by a blown fuse, disconnected or chafed wiring, or a failed relay coil.

Applies to these machines

  • MAGNUM AFS Connect
  • Puma series (115 through 260 CVX)
  • Magnum
  • Steiger
  • Vestrum
  • Maxxum

Check the cause

  1. Locate the primary fuse and relay panel behind the operator's seat by removing the rubber liner and rotating the large screws 1/4 turn to release the tray

  2. Identify the Reverse Battery Relay K-007 (Block 2A)

  3. Check the DEC fuse F-044 (10 Amp) for a blown filament

  4. Remove relay K-007 and inspect the socket terminals for corrosion, pushed-out pins, or damage

  5. Test the K-007 relay coil for continuity to check for an internal break

  6. Inspect the wiring harness between the DEC and the K-007 relay socket for breaks or chafing

Repair steps

  1. Turn off the tractor ignition and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts.

  2. Move the operator's seat forward, remove the rear rubber liner, and unlatch the tray to expose the fuse and relay panel.

  3. Locate relay K-007 (Reverse Battery Relay).

  4. Pull the faulty relay from the board.

  5. If diagnostic checks revealed a broken wire in the harness, repair the open circuit. If the relay coil tested open, discard the relay.

  6. Plug the new replacement relay (OEM Part # 84543528) firmly into the K-007 slot.

  7. Reinstall the protective tray and lock the 1/4-turn screws, then replace the rubber liner.

  8. Reconnect the battery, turn the key to the ON position, and use the tractor's diagnostic display to verify the code has moved from 'Active' to 'Inactive,' then clear the fault.
