Case IH 519069-04 - UCM – UCM: Rear hitch exterior inching switch right voltage low
Issue description
This fault code indicates that the control module is receiving a voltage signal from the right-hand rear exterior hitch switch (the fender-mounted switch used to incrementally raise or lower the 3-point hitch) that is below the minimum acceptable threshold. This usually points to a short to ground in the wiring harness, an open circuit/broken wire, severe corrosion at the connector, or an internal failure of the switch itself.
Applies to these machines
7 machines- MAGNUM AFS Connect
- Magnum 220 AFS Connect
- Magnum 250
- Magnum 380
- Puma
- Optum
- Steiger
Check the cause
Inspect the right rear fender inching switch and its wiring harness for physical damage, mud/debris buildup, or pinched wires.
Unplug the switch from the UCM harness (Connector 92) and check for water intrusion, dirt, or corroded pins inside the connector.
With the key ON, check the supply voltage at the connector to ensure the UCM is sending the correct reference voltage. If voltage is low at the connector while unplugged, the issue is a short to ground or broken wire in the harness between the switch and the UCM.
If harness voltage is correct, test the switch itself for proper resistance/continuity when pressed. If it reads out of specification or shows an internal short, the switch is the culprit.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the battery to prevent any short circuits while working on the UCM network.
Access the Switch
Locate the right rear exterior inching switch on the rear fender.
Disconnect
Reach behind the fender panel and depress the locking tab to disconnect the electrical harness from the switch.
Remove the Switch
Squeeze the retaining tabs or remove the mounting bezel/screws (depending on exact fender trim) to pop the faulty switch out of the fender housing.
Install the New Part
Push the new OEM inching switch into the fender receptacle until it clicks securely into place.
Reconnect and Seal
Plug the electrical connector back into the switch. (Note: Applying a small amount of dielectric grease to the connector seal can help prevent future moisture intrusion).
Test
Reconnect the battery, turn the ignition ON, and clear the inactive fault codes from the UCM monitor. Test the right rear fender switch to ensure the 3-point hitch raises and lowers correctly without throwing the 519069-04 code.
