Case IH 519071-04 - UCM – UCM: Rear hitch exterior top link switch right voltage low

The system has detected that the voltage signal from the right-hand exterior top link/hitch control switch (located on the rear fender) has dropped below the acceptable operating threshold. A "voltage low" condition typically indicates a short to ground in the wiring harness, a disconnected plug, or an internal failure (short) within the switch itself.

   Inspect the right-hand rear fender exterior switch for physical damage, cracked rubber boots, or moisture/dirt ingress

   Trace the wiring harness from the right rear fender switch back to the UCM. Look for pinched wires, chafing against the chassis, or melted insulation that could cause a short to ground

   Disconnect the switch and inspect the pins for corrosion, pushed-out terminals, or water intrusion

   With the key ON, probe the harness connector to ensure the UCM is supplying the correct reference voltage and ground

   Test the switch itself for continuity; if it shows continuity to ground without the button being pressed, the switch is internally shorted and must be replaced

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and turn off the battery master disconnect switch to prevent electrical spikes.

   Access the Switch

   Locate the faulty right-hand exterior top link/hitch switch on the rear fender housing.

   Disconnect

   Reach behind the fender panel (or remove the retaining bezel, depending on exact fender trim) and unplug the electrical harness connector from the switch.

   Remove

   Depress the retaining tabs or remove the mounting screws holding the switch in the fender cutout, and push the switch out.

   Install

   Snap the new OEM switch into the fender housing.

   Reconnect

   Plug the wiring harness back into the switch, ensuring the weather-seal clicks firmly into place.

   Test

   Turn the battery disconnect back on, power up the tractor, and clear the inactive fault code via the AFS Pro display. Stand clear of the implement and test the right fender switch to confirm the rear hitch/top link raises and lowers correctly.
