Case IH 519573-02 - UCM – UCM: Steering valve controller calibration fault
Issue description
Indicates that the steering valve controller has failed its calibration process, either due to an out-of-range signal, an incomplete calibration sequence, or a hardware failure preventing the controller from learning the valve's limits.
Applies to these machines
3 machines- MAGNUM AFS Connect
- Case IH Magnum AFS Connect Series (Models 180, 200, 220, 240, 250, 280, 310, 340, 380, 400)
- Case IH Steiger / Quadtrac AFS Connect Series
Check the cause
Check ISOBUS Communication: Ensure there are no active ISOBUS communication faults (such as 518924-19) that could interrupt the steering controller.
Inspect the Wheel Angle Sensor: Check the physical mounting and wiring harness of the wheel angle sensor on the steering axle.
Check LVDT Sensor Connections: Inspect the LVDT (Linear Variable Differential Transformer) sensor connection directly on the steering hydraulic valve.
Verify Hydraulic Valve Assembly: Ensure there is no incorrect assembly or physical binding of the steering hydraulic valve.
Repair steps
Turn on the tractor
Turn on the tractor and allow the Pro 1200 display to boot up.
Navigate to diagnostic page
Navigate to the ISObus diagnostic page (or the Steering settings page) on the Pro 1200 display.
Initiate Calibration
Run the built-in calibration wizards for both the Wheel Angle Sensor and the Steering Valve.
Monitor the Calibration
Follow the on-screen prompts. If the calibration fails (often noted as "out of range" after multiple attempts), the system will abort.
Repair/Replace
If the calibration repeatedly fails and wiring checks out, replace the faulty Electro-Hydraulic Steering Valve or the Wheel Angle Sensor.
Recalibrate
After replacing any steering component, you must successfully rerun the Wheel Angle Sensor and Steering Valve calibrations to clear the 519573-02 code.
