Case IH 519573-19 - UCM – UCM: Steering valve controller calibration fault

The control module has detected an error or failure during the calibration process of the steering valve controller, or that the stored PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) calibration values for the steering valve are invalid or missing.

   Check for communication faults between the steering valve controller, the UCM, and the vehicle speed sensor (look for related codes like 520201-02, 520200-19, or 298967-19)

   Inspect the wheel angle sensor and steering wheel sensor for faults or checksum failures (e.g., codes 15291 through 15297)

   Verify the 5-volt reference supply to the steering sensors is within range (check for related codes 520197-03 or 520197-04)

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the UCM, the steering valve, and the steering sensors for damage, corrosion, or loose pins

   Resolve Active Sensor/Wiring Faults

   Address any active voltage or communication fault codes related to the steering angle sensors or UCM first, as these will block calibration.

   Access Diagnostic Menu

   Using the tractor's AFS Pro display or the dealer Electronic Service Tool (EST), navigate to the UCM / Steering diagnostics and calibration menu.

   Perform Calibration

   Initiate the Steering Valve Calibration procedure. Follow the on-screen prompts to recalibrate the PWM values for the steering valve.

   Component Replacement

   If the calibration repeatedly fails or the UCM reports that the valve calibration checksum is incorrect/invalid (Code 15291/15292), the steering valve's internal controller or the wheel angle sensor may be physically faulty and unable to retain data. Replace the faulty component.

   Final Test

   After successful calibration, clear all UCM fault codes and test drive the tractor to ensure the auto-guidance/steering operates smoothly without throwing the 519573-19 code again.
