Case IH 519574-13 - UCM – UCM: Steering valve controller calibration fault
Issue description
The steering valve controller has either failed its calibration process, lost its calibration data, or is operating out of its calibrated range.

Check the cause
Check for other active codes related to the UCM, wheel angle sensor, or steering valve supply voltage (e.g., 627-04 for low voltage to the steering valve). Address voltage or sensor circuit faults first.
Inspect the wiring harness and connectors at the steering hydraulic valve and the LVDT (Linear Variable Differential Transformer) sensor for damage, corrosion, or loose pins.
Ensure the external guidance system (if equipped) is properly initialized and communicating via the ISObus.
Repair steps
Prepare the tractor
Start the tractor and ensure it is stationary on a flat surface. Turn on the external guidance system and initialize the controller.
Access the calibration menu
Go to the ISObus diagnostic page or the steering settings page on the Pro 1200 display.
Run the calibration wizard
Select the "Steering Valve Calibration" option. Follow the on-screen wizard built into the display to perform the calibration.
Verify success
If the calibration is successful, the steering settings page should display the correct steering mode (e.g., "GPS – ISO") and the fault code should clear.
Address repeated failures
If the calibration fails repeatedly (usually after 2 to 4 attempts), inspect the steering hydraulic valve for incorrect assembly or internal failure.
Software/Hardware replacement
If the valve and sensors test good, the Steering Valve Controller (SVC) may require a software re-flash or physical replacement.
