519667-02 - BCM

Case IH 519667-02 - BCM – BCM: ATC rear vent door actuator - reception error

Issue description

The fault indicates a communication or signal failure ('reception error') involving the Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) system's rear vent door actuator. The control module is failing to receive the expected CAN bus communication data or position sensor feedback from the actuator.

Applies to these machines

  • MAGNUM AFS Connect
  • 2588
  • 5088
  • 5130
  • 6088
  • 7088
  • 7120
  • 7130
  • 8010
  • 8120
  • 8230
  • 9010
  • 9240
  • Magnum 290
  • Magnum 235-340 series

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness between the BCM, the ATC module, and the rear vent door actuator for open circuits, shorts to ground, or shorts to battery voltage.

  2. Check for CAN bus noise or physical damage to the communication lines, as a reception error means the digital signal is being interrupted or lost.

  3. Test the actuator's internal position sensor (potentiometer) to ensure it is sending the correct voltage feedback to the control module.

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect battery power.

  2. Access the HVAC blower case / rear evaporator assembly to reach the vent door actuator.

  3. Repair any damaged wiring in the BCM-to-actuator harness.

  4. Replace the actuator if its internal circuitry or motor has failed.

  5. Clear the inactive DTCs from the BCM using an electronic service tool.

Use a tool like the CNH EASy tool.
