Case IH 520195-07 - PCM – PCM: SIM card not responding

Internal control process failure where the telematics modem is unable to detect, read, or communicate with the inserted cellular SIM card.

   Check the AFS Pro 1200 display diagnostics (Menu > Diagnostics > Cellular > SIM IMSI) to verify if the IMSI field is blank or shows an error.

   Check the modem LED status to verify the green power LED is steady ON (if blinking, the modem is updating firmware and should not be interrupted).

   Verify the CAN connection to the modem is secure.

   Recycle power to the PCM to see if the modem re-detects the SIM card.

   Safe Shutdown

   Turn the ignition switch OFF. Wait for the short delay before the screen goes blank; the display uses unswitched power during this time to save current settings and close files. Do not disconnect power until the screen is completely off.

   Access the SIM Card

   Locate the SIM card adapter, which is located inside the PCM shell.

   Reseat the SIM

   Remove the SIM card, inspect the gold contacts for dirt or corrosion, and securely re-seat it into the adapter. Power the machine back on to see if the code clears.

   SIM Card Replacement

   If the SIM card has failed, install a new SIM card. You must supply the new 20-digit SIM Serial Number (located on the card) to your local Case IH dealer for cellular activation/recharge.

   PCM Replacement

   If the PCM itself is faulty and will not read any SIM cards, physically replace the module.

   Reprogramming

   After installing a new PCM, the display and PCM must be programmed. Use the Electronic Service Tool (EST) base software to copy the complete program files for the display and the PCM onto a USB memory device. Insert the USB into the display to begin the programming process.
