Case IH 520237-02 - VCM – UCM: Incorrect controller configuration

The control module has detected a mismatch, data corruption, or an unprogrammed state in its configuration parameters or software payload.

   Verify module history to see if the UCM was recently replaced or if the tractor experienced a severe battery voltage drop.

   Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to verify the current software version and configuration settings of the UCM.

   Ensure the UCM is communicating properly on the CAN bus with the VCM and the AFS Pro display.

   Connect EST

   Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to the machine.

   Navigate to UCM configuration

   Navigate to the UCM (Universal Control Module) configuration screen.

   Check for updates

   Check for any available software updates or missing payloads for the UCM based on the tractor's specific PIN (Product Identification Number).

   Perform module reconfiguration

   Perform a module reconfiguration. Download the correct configuration file from the CNH eTIM / EST database and flash it to the UCM.

   Verify machine options

   Verify specific machine options (e.g., HVAC settings, grid heater presence, transmission type) are set to "Installed" or configured correctly for that specific PIN.

   Save settings and cycle power

   Save the new settings and cycle the key power (turn the key off, wait for the modules to completely power down, and turn it back on).

   Clear fault codes and test

   Clear the fault codes. If code 520237-02 returns and the module refuses to accept or hold the configuration payload, the UCM has suffered an internal memory failure and must be replaced.
