Case IH 520440-05 - BCM – BCM: Field light memory 2 recall indicator - Current below normal or open circuit

The control module has detected a break in the electrical path—such as a disconnected plug, a severed wire, or a failed internal switch contact—preventing current from flowing through the indicator circuit.

   Verify the tractor's battery voltage, as a drop below 11.5 volts can trigger erroneous electrical and open-circuit codes

   Locate the Field Light Memory Recall Switch inside the cab and inspect the connector for loose, backed-out, or corroded pins

   Disconnect the switch and use a multimeter to check for continuity across the switch terminals when actuated

   Test the wiring harness between the switch connector and the BCM for an open circuit (infinite resistance) or a short to ground

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical spikes during repair.

   Access the Switch

   Carefully remove the trim or armrest panel housing the Field Light Memory Recall Switch to gain access to the rear wiring.

   Inspect and Replace Terminals

   If the connector is damaged, depin the connector. Replace any spread or corroded terminals using a Female, Silver, Wire 0.5 - 1.0 terminal.

   Replace the Switch (If faulty)

   If the multimeter test showed the switch itself is internally open, remove the retaining clips, pull the old switch out of the bezel, and snap the new OEM switch into place.

   Reassemble and Clear Codes

   Reconnect the wiring harness, reinstall the trim panels, and reconnect the battery. Turn the key on and use the AFS Pro display or a diagnostic tool (like Jaltest) to clear the inactive fault codes. Test the field light memory function to ensure the indicator operates correctly.
