Case IH 520443-05 - BCM – BCM: Roof mounted headlamp high beam right - open circuit
Issue description
The control module has detected that the electrical circuit supplying power to the right-side roof-mounted high beam headlamp is incomplete. This is most commonly caused by a blown light bulb, a disconnected electrical plug, or a severed wire in the harness.

Check the cause
Visually inspect the right roof-mounted high beam headlamp bulb to see if the filament is broken or the LED array has failed.
Inspect the electrical connector at the headlamp assembly for looseness, moisture, corrosion, or pushed-out pins.
Using a multimeter, test the wiring harness for continuity between the headlamp connector and the BCM to locate any open circuits or wire breaks.
Verify that the ground connection for the roof lighting circuit is secure and free of rust or paint interference.
Repair steps
Power Down
Ensure the tractor is turned off and the key is removed to unpower the lighting circuit.
Access the Headlamp
Safely access the right roof-mounted headlamp assembly on the cab roof.
Disconnect
Disconnect the electrical wiring harness connection from the back of the light assembly.
Replace the Bulb/Assembly
For halogen setups: Turn the light bulb, extract it, and replace it with a new one of the exact same power rating. Avoid touching the new bulb glass with bare fingers. For sealed LED setups: Unbolt the mounting bracket and replace the entire LED work light assembly.
Harness Repair (If Applicable)
If the bulb is intact but the circuit is open, trace the wiring harness back toward the BCM. Splice and heat-shrink any severed wires, or replace damaged connector pigtails.
Test and Clear
Reconnect the headlamp assembly. Power on the tractor, activate the high beams, and verify the light illuminates. Clear the fault code via the AFS Pro 1200 display or a diagnostic service tool.
