Case IH 520564-00 - BCM – BCM: Cab right wiper motor - too many loads or faulty load

The system has detected an excessive electrical current draw (too many loads) or a short/faulty load on the circuit responsible for powering the right-hand cab windshield wiper motor.

   Inspect the right-hand wiper arm and linkage for mechanical binding. If the wiper arm is physically stuck, dragging, or binding against the windshield/cab frame, it will cause the motor to overwork and draw excessive current.

   Check the wiring harness between the BCM and the right wiper motor for exposed wires, chafing, or a short to ground.

   Test the wiper motor directly. If the internal windings of the motor are shorted or degraded, the motor itself is the faulty load.

   Inspect the BCM connectors for water intrusion, corrosion, or damaged pins, which can cause false load readings.

   Preparation

   Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical shorts while working on the BCM circuits.

   Remove Wiper Arm

   Unbolt and remove the wiper arm from the right-hand wiper motor's tapered shaft. Note the exact resting angle of the arm before removal.

   Access the Motor

   Remove the interior front lower right-hand cab panel to access the wiper motor assembly.

   Disconnect

   Unplug the electrical connector from the faulty wiper motor.

   Dismount

   Unbolt the wiper motor from its cab mounting bracket and remove it. Transfer any existing linkage arms to the new unit at the exact same angle if they are not included with the new motor.

   Install New Motor

   Bolt the new replacement motor into place and reconnect the electrical harness.

   Reassembly

   Reinstall the interior cab panel. Reattach the wiper arm to the 34mm tapered shaft at the correct park position.

   Testing

   Reconnect the battery. Test the wiper motor through all speed settings to ensure you have proper park positioning and a full, unobstructed sweep.
