Case IH 520579-00 - BCM – BCM: Rear left turn light - too many loads or faulty load
Issue description
The circuit is drawing more electrical current than the module allows. This overcurrent condition is typically caused by a short circuit, a defective light assembly, or an overloaded circuit (such as from a trailer or aftermarket accessories drawing too much power).
Applies to these machines
1 machine- MAGNUM AFS Connect
Check the cause
Disconnect any trailers or implements connected to the tractor to see if the fault clears, as external wiring or trailer lights can overload the circuit.
Inspect the rear left turn light assembly for physical damage, water ingress, or a defective bulb/LED.
Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the BCM and the rear left turn light for pinched wires, chafing, or shorts to ground/power.
Disconnect the rear left turn light. If the fault code changes from an overcurrent/faulty load code to an 'open circuit' code, the light assembly itself is the source of the excessive load.
Repair steps
Turn off the ignition and disconnect battery power if repairing the wiring harness.
If the light assembly is determined to be the faulty load, remove the mounting hardware securing the rear left turn light.
Disconnect the electrical connector and install the replacement light assembly.
If the wiring harness is the issue, locate the shorted or damaged section of the wire. Repair the wire using appropriate weather-sealed splices or replace the damaged harness section.
Reconnect all components and battery power.
Turn the ignition on and activate the left turn signal to verify the light operates correctly and the BCM fault code is cleared.
