Case IH 520595-03 - BCM – BCM: Voltage supply for processor - out of range - high

The internal processor within the control module is receiving a voltage supply that exceeds the maximum allowable threshold.

   Measure the battery voltage and alternator output while the machine is running to ensure the charging system is not overcharging.

   Inspect the wiring harness supplying power to the BCM for any chafed wires that might be shorting to a higher voltage source.

   Verify that all BCM ground connections are clean, tight, and free of corrosion.

   If the external charging system and wiring harness voltages are within normal specifications, isolate the BCM as the fault is likely internal to its power regulation circuitry.

   Power Down

   Disconnect the battery negative cable before performing any electrical repairs or disconnecting modules.

   Repair Wiring/Charging System

   If an overcharging alternator or a short-to-power in the wiring harness was found, repair the wiring or replace the alternator/voltage regulator as necessary.

   Replace the BCM

   If the external voltage supply is correct but the code persists, the BCM has suffered an internal processor power supply failure and must be replaced.

   Reprogramming

   Install the new BCM. Note that a new BCM will require dealer programming/flashing with the correct software dataset for your specific machine's VIN and configuration (e.g., CVT vs. Full Power Shift).

   Clear Codes

   Reconnect the battery, clear the fault codes using the EST (Electronic Service Tool), and cycle the key to verify the code does not return.
