Case IH 520600-05 - BCM – BCM: Work lamp #1 - open circuit

The control module has detected a break in the electrical circuit supplying power to Work Lamp #1. An "open circuit" typically means a burnt-out bulb, a disconnected electrical plug, or a severed wire in the harness.

   Visual Inspection: Inspect Work Lamp #1 to see if the halogen bulb is visibly burnt out or if the LED array is damaged.

   Connector Check: Disconnect the electrical connection at the work lamp. Check the connector pins for moisture, corrosion, or loose terminals that could cause an open circuit.

   Voltage Test: Turn the ignition and the work light switch ON. Use a multimeter to check for 12 volts at the work lamp connector. If 12 volts are present but the light doesn't work, the bulb/lamp is faulty.

   Harness Continuity: If no voltage is present at the connector, trace the wiring harness back to the BCM to check for pinched, rubbed, or broken wires. Test the ground circuit for continuity to the chassis ground.

   Turn off the tractor ignition and engage the manual battery disconnect/isolator switch to cut power to the BCM.

   Locate Work Lamp #1 on the tractor.

   Disconnect the electrical connection at the back of the work lamp.

   For Halogen Lamps: Turn the light bulb counterclockwise, extract it, and replace it with a new bulb of the exact same wattage.

   For Sealed/LED Lamps: Unbolt the mounting bracket hardware and remove the entire faulty work lamp assembly, then mount the replacement assembly.

   Reconnect the electrical connector, ensuring it clicks securely into place.

   Turn on the battery disconnect and ignition. Turn on the work light switch to verify the new light illuminates.

   Clear the 520600-05 fault code from the BCM memory using the AFS Pro 1200 display or a diagnostic service tool.
