Case IH 520611-14 - ACM – ACM: Incorrect PTO brake switch configuration

The system has detected a configuration mismatch or an invalid state regarding the Power Take-Off (PTO) brake switch. This usually means the software configuration does not match the physical hardware installed on the tractor, or the switch is sending an implausible signal that contradicts the programmed configuration parameters.

   Connect the Electronic Service Tool (EST) to the CAN1/ISOBUS diagnostic connector and verify that the PTO brake switch setting in the ACM general configuration matches the tractor's actual physical build.

   Inspect the PTO brake switch connector in the armrest to ensure no pins have been pushed back into the connector housing.

   Inspect the wiring harness routing under the armrest and cab for any signs of rodent damage or chafing.

   Use the tractor's H-Menu (diagnostic menu) or the EST to monitor the live state of the PTO brake switch. Depress the switch and verify if the controller registers the change in state.

   Correct the Configuration

   If the EST reveals that the ACM configuration was accidentally changed or corrupted, use the EST toolbar to reconfigure the ACM general settings so that the PTO brake switch parameter matches the factory build. Save the configuration and cycle the key.

   Access the Switch

   If the configuration is correct but the switch is faulty, disconnect the tractor's battery. Carefully remove the trim panels on the armrest console to access the underside of the PTO control switches.

   Remove the Faulty Switch

   Disconnect the electrical harness from the PTO brake switch. Depress the retaining tabs on the switch body and push it out of the armrest bezel.

   Install the New Part

   Snap the replacement OEM PTO brake switch into the armrest console.

   Reconnect and Reassemble

   Reconnect the wiring harness, ensuring the connector clicks into place and no pins are pushed out the back. Reinstall the armrest trim panels.

   Clear Codes and Test

   Reconnect the battery. Turn the key ON, clear the 520611-14 fault code using the EST or the tractor's diagnostic display, and test the PTO engagement and braking functions to ensure the code does not return.
