Case IH 520612-02 - ACM – ACM: PTO display shortcut switch circuit fault

The controller has detected an electrical circuit malfunction (such as an open circuit, short to ground, or short to power) in the shortcut button used to bring up the Power Take-Off (PTO) settings on the display monitor.

   Identify the yellow PTO shortcut switch on the redesigned armrest control panel

   Use a diagnostic tool (e.g., Case IH Electronic Service Tool or Jaltest AGV) to verify the fault is active

   Verify the Armrest Control Module (ACM) software version to determine if an update is required

4. 4

   Disconnect the harness at the armrest control panel and the ACM, and use a multimeter to test the PTO shortcut switch circuit for continuity

   Check for a short to ground or a short to battery voltage on the switch's signal wire

   Inspect the 17-pin connector assignments on the ACM for pushed, corroded, or bent pins

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes during module handling.

   Access the Armrest Internals

   Carefully remove the trim panels on the AFS Connect armrest to expose the integrated control panel and the Armrest Control Module (ACM).

   Inspect Wiring and Connectors

   Visually inspect the wiring harness connecting the yellow PTO shortcut switch to the ACM. Look for chafing, pinched wires, or loose connections.

   Repair the Circuit

   If the multimeter test revealed a grounded or open circuit at or after the switch, repair the damaged section of the wiring harness or replace the damaged connector pin.

   Replace Component (If Internal)

   If the wiring tests good but the switch itself fails continuity tests when pressed, the integrated switch/control panel must be replaced. If the switch tests good but the ACM is not reading the input, the ACM itself may have suffered an internal hardware failure.

   Reassemble and Calibrate

   Reconnect all harnesses, restore battery power, and turn the key on. Clear the fault codes using your diagnostic tool and press the PTO shortcut key to ensure the AFS Pro 1200 display brings up the PTO run screen without logging a new fault.
