520626-02 - ACM

Case IH 520626-02 - ACM – ACM: Multi function handle shuttle reverse switch circuit fault.

Issue description

The system has detected a circuit malfunction (such as an open circuit, short to ground, or voltage out of range) specifically on the shuttle reverse switch circuit located on the Multi-Function Handle (MFH). This switch is responsible for commanding the tractor's transmission into reverse.

Applies to these machines

  • MAGNUM AFS Connect
  • Magnum Series
  • Magnum 260
  • Magnum 290
  • Magnum 315
  • Magnum 340
  • Magnum 400
  • Steiger Series
  • Puma Series
  • Maxxum Series

Check the cause

  1. Ensure the tractor is powered down and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent shorting components.

  2. Locate and inspect Connector X846 on the Multi-Function Handle Electronic Module (A-032), which houses the wiring for the Shuttle Reverse Switch (S-111).

  3. Check the wiring between the S-111 Shuttle Reverse Switch and the Armrest Control Module for continuity, chafing, or pinched wires inside the armrest assembly.

  4. Verify if other buttons on the Multi-Function Handle are operating correctly to rule out a disconnected module or a shared ground/power failure.

Repair steps

  1. Park and disconnect battery

Park the machine on a level surface, turn off the engine, and disconnect the negative battery cable.

  2. Disassemble armrest console

Disassemble the armrest control console to access the Armrest Control Module (ACM) and the base of the Multi-Function Handle.

  3. Disconnect connector

Disconnect connector X846 from the Multi-Function Handle Electronic Module.

  4. Inspect pins

Inspect the pins on both the handle side and the harness side for corrosion, pushed-out pins, or damage.

  5. Replace MFH assembly

If the wiring harness tests good but the shuttle reverse switch fails to close/open the circuit when toggled, the internal switch has failed. Because individual switches inside the MFH are generally not serviced separately, the entire Multi-Function Handle (Joystick) assembly must be replaced.

  6. Install replacement handle

Remove the retaining hardware for the MFH and install the replacement handle.

  7. Reassemble console

Reconnect connector X846 and reassemble the armrest console.

  8. Test function

Reconnect the negative battery cable, power on the tractor, and test the shuttle reverse function to ensure the fault code 520626-02 moves to an inactive state and clears.
