522831-06 - PCM

Case IH 522831-06 - PCM – PCM: HSD output-2 overcurrent

Issue description

The control module has detected an electrical current draw on High Side Driver Output 2 that exceeds the maximum allowable threshold, typically caused by a short circuit or a faulty component drawing too much power.

Applies to these machines

  • MAGNUM AFS Connect
  • Steiger / Quadtrac AFS Connect
  • Puma AFS Connect
  • Optum
  • 250-series Combines
  • Patriot sprayers

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness connected to PCM HSD Output 2 for a short to ground or a short to power.

  2. Test the connected component (sensor, valve, or antenna powered by HSD Output 2) to ensure it is functional and not internally shorted.

Repair steps

  1. Repair wiring harness

Locate any chafed or pinched wires on the Output 2 circuit and repair the harness to resolve short circuits.

  2. Replace connected component

Replace the end-component (valve, sensor, or antenna) if testing reveals it is internally shorted.

  3. Replace PCM

If the harness and components test good, the PCM itself may have a failed internal driver. Replace and reprogram the PCM.
