Case IH 522845-05 - PCM – PCM: Cellular diversity antenna open circuit

The telematics module has detected a break in the electrical continuity (an open circuit) on the secondary (diversity) cellular antenna circuit. This usually points to a disconnected cable, a severed wire, or an internal failure within the antenna itself.

   Verify that the green LED for power on the modem is steady ON (if blinking, do not interrupt firmware update)

   If the LED is steady ON, cycle the power to the system to see if the fault clears

   Access the System Diagnostics card on the AFS Pro 1200 or Pro 700 display to view the current network status of the ethernet circuit between the display and the PCM

   Inspect the physical coaxial cable connections between the PCM and the cellular diversity antenna for loose connectors, pinched cables, or severed wires

   Power Down

   Turn off the machine and disconnect battery power to safely service the electrical components.

   Locate Components

   Locate the PCM and trace the antenna cable routing up to the cellular diversity antenna (typically mounted on the cab roof).

   Inspect and Reconnect

   Disconnect the antenna cable at both the PCM and the antenna base. Inspect the pins and connectors for corrosion or damage. Reconnect them securely; a loose connection is a common cause of an open circuit.

   Continuity Test

   If the connections are secure but the code persists, use a multimeter to test the antenna cable for continuity.

   Replace Faulty Component

   If the cable fails the continuity test (shows an open circuit), replace the antenna cable harness. If the cable is intact, the internal circuitry of the cellular diversity antenna has failed. Replace the antenna assembly.

   Verify Repair

   Restore power to the machine, allow the PCM to boot up, and check the AFS display diagnostics to ensure fault code 522845-05 / TL-131 is no longer active.
