Case IH 523200 - 02 - CSM – CSM: Cab suspension controller timeout error
Issue description
The controller has failed to respond within the expected timeframe, typically pointing to a loss of communication on the CAN bus network, a wiring issue, or an internal failure of the module itself.
Applies to these machines
3 machines- MAGNUM AFS Connect
- Case IH AFS Connect Magnum Tractors (Models 180, 200, 220, 240, 250, 280, 310, 340, and 380) with CVT or Full Power Shift Transmissions (Tier 4B)
- Case IH Optum CVXDrive AFS Connect series
Check the cause
Verify the battery voltage and ensure the machine's electrical system is fully charged
Inspect the wiring harness connecting to the Cab Suspension Module (CSM) for chafing, pinched wires, or corrosion
Check the power and ground supply pins at the CSM connector
Test the CAN bus communication lines (CAN High / CAN Low) for proper resistance and voltage to ensure the module is actively communicating with the rest of the tractor's network
Check if the CSM requires a software update (e.g., updating to software version 1.0.0.0 or newer)
Repair steps
Replace the CSM hardware
If wiring, power, and ground are intact and a software re-flash does not restore communication, the CSM hardware must be replaced.
Calibrate the CSM
Calibrate the new module using the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST).
Parts you might need
