523200 - 03 - CSM

Case IH 523200 - 03 - CSM – Cab Suspension Module (CSM): Cab suspension supply voltage - cab suspension battery supply voltage high

Issue description

The control module is detecting a higher-than-expected battery supply voltage on the cab suspension circuit, which could be caused by a wiring short to battery voltage or an internal defect in the module.

Applies to these machines

  • MAGNUM AFS Connect
  • AFS Connect Magnum 180
  • AFS Connect Magnum 200
  • AFS Connect Magnum 220
  • AFS Connect Magnum 240
  • AFS Connect Magnum 250
  • AFS Connect Magnum 280
  • AFS Connect Magnum 310
  • AFS Connect Magnum 340
  • AFS Connect Magnum 380

Check the cause

  1. Cycle the ignition: Switch the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, and switch the ignition back on to check if the error is still active.

  2. Inspect the wiring harness and connectors connected to the Cab Suspension Module (CSM). Look for areas where a connector pin might be improperly contacting battery voltage or where the wiring is defective and shorting to a high source.

  3. Switch the ignition off, unplug the control unit, and use a terminal tester to measure the resistance and voltage of the connected components to ensure they are within normal limits.

Repair steps

  1. Repair or replace wiring harness

If the wiring or plug connection is found to be defective (shorted to battery), repair or replace the affected section of the wiring harness.

  2. Replace Cab Suspension Module (CSM)

If the wiring tests normal but the voltage reading at the module remains out of range, the Cab Suspension Module (CSM) likely has an internal defect and must be replaced.
