Case IH 523200 - 04 - CSM – CSM: Cab suspension supply voltage - cab suspension battery supply voltage is low
Issue description
The fault code indicates a condition where the cab suspension battery supply voltage is low. FMI 04 translates to a circuit condition where the voltage is Below Normal, or Shorted to Low Source.
Applies to these machines
4 machines- MAGNUM AFS Connect
- Case IH AFS Connect Magnum Series (Models 180, 200, 220, 240, 250, 280, 310, 340, and 380)
- Case IH Puma Series
- Case IH Maxxum Series
Check the cause
Verify the battery voltage and ensure the system is receiving sufficient voltage (typically > 10.00V for 12V systems)
Inspect the fuses supplying power (Terminal 30) to the Cab Suspension Module
Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the battery/power distribution and the CSM for high line resistance, broken wires, or a short to ground
Repair steps
Measure line resistance
Switch the ignition off and wait 10 seconds before unplugging the control unit to measure line resistance.
Replace fuse
If a blown fuse is found, replace the fuse and re-test the circuit.
Repair wiring harness
Repair or replace any damaged sections of the wiring harness that are shorting to the vehicle ground.
Replace Cab Suspension Module
If the wiring and power supply are intact but the module still registers low internal voltage, the Cab Suspension Module (CSM) may have an internal defect and require replacement.
