Case IH 523205 - 12 - CSM – CSM (Cab Suspension Module): Cab Suspension Controller Memory Hardware Failure
Issue description
The Cab Suspension Module (CSM) has detected a memory error, meaning the controller's internal ROM/RAM has failed, corrupted its software, or lost its calibration data.
Applies to these machines
3 machines- MAGNUM AFS Connect
- AFS Connect Magnum Series Tractors (Models 180, 200, 220, 240, 250, 280, 310, 340, and 380)
- Puma Series Tractors
Check the cause
Verify battery voltage, check the cab suspension fuses, and inspect the main power and ground pins at the CSM harness connector for voltage supply circuit drops.
Check the current software version on the CSM using the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST).
Ensure there are no other active CAN communication codes that might be interrupting the module's ability to read or write data.
Repair steps
Reflash the Module
Connect the EST diagnostic tool and attempt to reflash/update the Cab Suspension Module with the latest software payload.
Clear and Retest
Clear the fault codes, cycle the ignition key, and operate the tractor to see if the 523205 - 12 code returns.
Replace the Module
If the code immediately returns or the module refuses to take a software flash, the internal memory hardware is permanently damaged. You must replace the CSM.
Calibration
After installing a new Cab Suspension Controller, you must perform the Cab Suspension Controller Calibration procedure via the EST or the tractor's Pro monitor so the new module can learn the suspension travel limits.
