The system is detecting a mismatch where the pressure in the trailer brake control line is registering lower than the available supply pressure. The system flags a disagreement because it cannot guarantee safe, synchronized braking.

   Inspect the trailer brake control lines and the air reservoir for physical leaks that would cause a pressure drop between the supply and the control line.

   Check the live data for the Hydraulic/Pneumatic Trailer Brake Pressure Sensors to see if the sensor is reading artificially low compared to a manual gauge.

   Inspect the wiring harness leading to the ITBV. Specifically, check the X-386F connector at the Intelligent Trailer Brake Valve for corrosion, pushed pins, or moisture ingress.

   Verify there are no accompanying CAN-bus communication faults (such as codes 12946 or 12947), which would indicate the ITBV is losing communication with the Vehicle Controller rather than experiencing a physical pressure loss.

   Isolate the System

   Disconnect any attached trailer to ensure the fault is isolated to the tractor's onboard ITBV system.

   Bleed/Drain the System

   Use the air reservoir drain valve to clear any moisture from the supply tanks that could be freezing or blocking the pneumatic valves.

   Test the Pressure Sensor

   Back-probe the trailer brake pressure sensor. If the sensor is outputting a voltage that does not match the actual line pressure, replace the sensor.

   Inspect the ITBV

   If the sensor and wiring are good, the Intelligent Trailer Brake Valve itself may be internally bypassing or failing to actuate fully, restricting control line pressure.

   Replace the Valve

   Remove the pneumatic lines from the ITBV, disconnect the X-386F electrical connector, and unbolt the valve assembly. Install the new ITBV and torque to OEM specifications.

   Calibrate

   Connect a diagnostic tool to the tractor's diagnostic port and run the ITBV calibration procedure to allow the Vehicle Controller to relearn the valve's response algorithms. Clear the fault codes.
