Case IH 523265 - 03 - CSM – CSM (Cab Suspension Module): Cab suspension left position sensor - Voltage Above Normal, or Shorted to High Source

The controller is receiving a voltage signal from the left cab suspension position sensor (potentiometer) that exceeds the maximum expected limit. This typically indicates that the sensor has failed internally, the signal wire is shorted to a power source (B+), or the sensor has lost its ground connection.

   Visually inspect the left cab suspension position sensor linkage for physical damage, binding, or disconnection.

   Disconnect the sensor's 3-pin connector and inspect for corrosion, bent pins, or moisture.

   Test the ground circuit to the sensor with a multimeter (a broken ground wire is the most common cause of a signal high code).

   Test the signal wire for a short to a 5V or 12V power source.

   Perform a sensor sweep test by back-probing the sensor while manually moving the suspension linkage to check for an internal short.

   Preparation

   Park the tractor on a level surface, lower any implements, and turn off the engine. Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes.

   Removal

   Disconnect the electrical harness from the faulty left cab suspension position sensor.

   Dismounting

   Remove the retaining nuts/bolts securing the sensor body and its linkage arm to the cab and chassis mounting brackets.

   Installation

   Mount the new position sensor and attach the linkage. Ensure the linkage has full range of motion without binding.

   Reconnection

   Plug in the electrical connector and reconnect the battery.

   Calibration

   Perform a cab suspension calibration procedure using the tractor's AFS Pro display monitor or the dealer Electronic Service Tool (EST) so the CSM can learn the new sensor's minimum and maximum voltage limits.
